TORNADO

We have been hit by a tornado. Google Windsor Colorado. We have been evacuated from the home. The trampoline is in the neighbors yard stuck in a tree. We no longer have a fence at all! Scariest thing I have EVER experienced.

So happy we are all okay... especially Derrick, he was working outside. It was the happiest thing ever having him walk into the house an hour after this happened.

Burn their energy off!!!

Well we finally did it. We are officially a real LDS family! We finally set up a trampoline for the kids. The boys really really really needed something to help them burn off energy and I needed them in the backyard playing! Don't worry about the grass. There was already a round dead circle right where we put it. I went out and jumped with the boys for a minute or two even. I kept thinking it will be great fun to sleep out there when the nights get warmer! Then I remembered all the mosquitos that Colorado has. EEK.

Bye Bye Pants!

The Words of Derrick:

At the beginning of January I started eating healthier with fruits and vegetables with and between my meals. I rarely drink soda any more. I discovered that I was not eating enough and usually found myself eating a fourth meal or snack every evening. The fourth meal would typically be cereal and milk or a bowl of popcorn. It's SHOCKING that I could eat so much with the fruits and vegetables and still lose pounds. So, here I am with pants that are 2 sizes too big with no idea what to do with them. Michelle thinks she'll make a quilt out of them.

Princess Hazel

When I brought Hazel down stairs to take pictures of her this morning in her new dress that Aunt Alissa gave her Porter saw her and said " She looks like a princess!" Porter was just so cute saying it. He loves Hazel a ton and is always trying to make her smile and laugh. Such a cute little girl in a cute cute dress!

Father Son Campout

Derrick took the boys to the father son campout. The boys were very excited. They love camping. I helped them each pack a small bag, get their pillows and blanket. From the pictures they looked like they had a great time with their dad. I love that he spends time with them like that. They did everything from walking on stones in the river, sticking sticks in fire, playing horseshoes, looks like there was even a playground there for them.
Yes.. they had a great time. Hazel and I had girls night. I went and rented two girlie movies and watched them both. I bought an icecream treat and a diet drpepper. Both a real splurge. We watched Becoming Jane and 27 Dresses. I enjoyed them both. Of course Hazel was put to bed. She is just a baby after all. :-)

Picnic Basket Room

We recently purchased an older home. Its in a great area, close to work. So close that Derrick has even walked to work a few times. The dining room had a woven looking dark wood paneling. So dark and WILD. While eating at the table it often felt like we were sitting in a picnic basket. To my happiness, IT HAS BEEN RIPPED OUT!! There was even sheet rock behind it that now needs repaired! It looks a 100o times better already.
Look the people who put the paneling up a million years ago even knew that it was ugly. They anticipated that it would be removed. See how they had painted " HI " in a nice bright yellow paint. It made us smile. Doesn't the room look much brigther and even larger. I can't wait to start repairing the wall where the glue was. I still am amazed someone's wife allowed that paneling to go up. SURELY the wife didn't pick it.. I HOPE. :-)
